Understanding the Art of Writing: How I Shape My Stories.

Exploring My Way of Storytelling

My writing is not just about a collection of words on a page. These words come not only from early memories, but from my personal experiences, emotions, and in many cases, my vivid imagination. My writing skills do not come from years of writing like so many other authors, as I just began writing in 2022. In this post, I hope to delve into the basic elements that contribute to my storytelling style.

The Building Blocks of My Writing

Character Development: One of my writing skills is the ability to create interesting and memorable characters. Readers can then see themselves in those characters which draws them deeper into the story.

Descriptive Imagery: With every setting in my stories I try to make it exciting and sometimes challenging, depending on detail. I do my best to paint scenes with words, as illustrated in my book "My First Decade: Relived", making it easy for readers to visualize the environment around my characters.

Themes of Resilience: Some of my stories explore themes like strength, perseverance, and courage, as found in my book "The Kendrick's of Glasgow Junction". These universal themes resonate with a diverse audience, allowing readers to connect on a personal level.

Engaging with Readers: A Two-Way Street

I strongly believe that interaction with my readers plays a crucial role in my creative process. Here is one way I can connect with you:

Feedback and Discussions: If you comment I will respond. Feedback from my readers inspires new story ideas and helps me to improve my writing.

For me, listening effectively and building trust with my readers are important, however, the most critical for me is feedback, both giving and getting. Effective feedback not only benefits the reader, but me as well.

Tips for Aspiring Writers

If you’re drawn to writing, consider these tips:

Find Your Voice: Write regularly to discover the style that feels authentic to you. Experiment with different genres and techniques until something clicks.

Read Widely: Exposure to various authors and styles can greatly influence your own writing. Analyze what you love about different works and incorporate those elements into your own creations.

Embrace Feedback: Share your work with others and be open to constructive criticism. This input can strengthen your writing significantly.

Stay Committed: Writing is a journey filled with ups and downs. Maintain your dedication, and remember that every writer encounters challenges.

Conclusion

My unique literary voice is a result of my personal incite and understanding of storytelling, my willingness to engage with readers, and my commitment to continuous improvement. By embracing the principles found in my work, aspiring writers can carve their own paths in the literary world, enhancing their skills in writing and connecting with their readers.
